ELON, N.C. – After a weeklong break, the Winthrop women's lacrosse program travels to North Carolina for a non-conference matchup against Elon on Saturday, Mar. 26 at 1 p.m.

WINTHROP AT A GLANCE
Winthrop is coming off a 7-8 (3-3 Big South) record in 2021. The Eagles welcomed seven newcomers to the squad; the newcomers include six freshmen and sophomore transfer
Krystal Beebe from Division II Florida Southern.
Winthrop had two players named to the preseason Big South all-conference team as
Kimora Bailey was named preseason defensive player of the year and midfielder
Alyssa Angelo was also honored.
The Eagles were ranked fifth in the Big South preseason poll and are in their first season under new leadership as head coach
Kara Concheck was named to the post in January.
Winthrop traveled to East Carolina for their season opener and came away with a 17-7 loss, although the Eagles did take an early 3-1 lead. The Eagles then took on Kennesaw State on the road and took a 14-8 defeat. Winthrop then traveled to Stetson and was competitive in a 15-13 loss before a 20-9 netural-site loss to Davidson. The Eagles then won their first game of the season against Youngstown State at Eagle Field leading into a loss against Virginia Tech.
Winthrop headed to Conway, S.C. for a non-conference matchup against Coastal Carolina last Friday before tomorrow's matchup with Elon.
SCOUTING ELON
The Elon Phoenix are 3-6. Last time out, the Phoenix traveled to Virginia Tech and were competitive in a 14-11 defeat.
ALL-TIME AGAINST ELON
Saturday's matchup is the fourth all-time between the teams. Elon defeated the Eagles 23-4 in the last matchup on Feb. 20, 2019.
