BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Winthrop women's basketball program got in a big hole early and fell to Campbell on the road Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
First Quarter | Campbell scored the first 19 points of the game to get out to a huge early lead. Winthrop scored seven consecutive points to get back in it, but a three pointer from the Camels with two seconds left got the lead back to 22-7.
Second Quarter | The Eagles notched the first two points of the second period, but that was the last good news for the visitors for a while. Campbell extended their lead to 35-9 with five and a half minutes to play in the half. The Camels then scored eight of the next 11 points of the contest to take a 43-12 lead into the locker room.
Third Quarter | Campbell continued their dominance early in the second half and had a 55-16 lead after just three minutes. Winthrop battled hard throughout, but the Camels simply didn't let up and the lead was 40 at the quarter break at 64-24.
Fourth Quarter | Winthrop had a good fourth quarter and got the lead down to 68-33 with two minutes to play. However, the Camels continued to pour it on and a three pointer just before the buzzer provided the final margin.
