ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Winthrop women's basketball program used a strong second half to defeat the visiting Radford Highlanders on Senior Day inside the Winthrop Coliseum.

How it Happened
First Quarter | Radford scored five of the first nine points of the contest to take a 5-4 lead. A
Tori Hall layup off an offensive rebounds gave the Eagles a 10-7 lead with just less than four minutes. Later, a layup from
J'Mani Ingram led Winthrop to a 12-9 lead after one quarter.
Second Quarter | The Highlanders closed the lead to 14-13 on a three pointer, but the Eagles responded with a 7-0 run, capped off by a
Leonor Paisana jumper, to extend the lead to eight. The lead stayed there as the teams traded baskets before Radford went on a 7-0 run to close the half and slash the lead to one.
Third Quarter |
Myra Strickland and Ingram combined for three points to open the third period, but three Highlanders deep balls gave the visitors a one-point lead. A 6-0 run for the home team took the lead back, and a layup from
Sydney Hunter with just over a minute to play in the stanza saw Winthrop to a seven-point lead heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter | The teams traded baskets early on before
Sierra Hunter made a layup to give the Eagles their first double-digit lead of the contest. Two more baskets from the home team got the lead to 15 points with just five minutes and cruised to the finish line from there.
