Jacksonville, Fla. — Winthrop fell 10-2 at North Florida on the final day of the River City Leadoff, Sunday afternoon.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Ospreys struck in the bottom of the first with two outs
- Glover singled to short and then reached second trying to steal when Kaitlyn Tucker was called for obstruction
- The next batter was Paige Pfent and she doubled over the head of Macy McCall to score Glover from second
- In the second, UNF took advantage of a Winthrop error as it doubled its lead to 2-0
- Abi Annett reached on an error by Lauren King at first and the next batter Logan Jackson tripled to right center to score Annett
- Winthrop cut the deficit in half in the top of the fourth as McCall reached on a fielding error by the second baseman
- McCall then stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch
- Two batters later, King came through with a loop single down the right field line to score McCall from third
- Winthrop had a chance to tie the game in the fifth inning as Courtney Cygan led off with a single and with one out stole second to get into scoring position
- Cygan was sacrificed to third by Ashton Vanhouse
- Tucker stepped in and on a full count hit a soft liner to left as the shortstop ran it down to make the catch and end the top half of the inning
- Ospreys pushed four runs across in the bottom of the fifth with the big hit coming off the bat of Hayley Bajarano with a two-run single up the middle
- UNF added three more runs in the sixth
- Bella Roy took the loss after allowing two unearned runs on three hits in 1.2 innings
EXTRA BASES
- McCall had three stolen bases in the game as she now has 66 in her career and is also closing in on 100 career runs with (89)
- McCall also moved into a tied for 3rd on the Winthrop all-time stolen base list, now trailing the all-time leader by 20 (Charlene Smith, 71)
- Cygan's single in the 5th inning extended her streak of reaching base to four straight and she's also hit safely in three straight
