Nick Mayfield has been named the Big South Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Mayfield won medalist honors at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic (par 72, 7,120 yards) with a 5-under 211 (72-68-71). He won by two strokes, and his second round 68 tied his career low as well as moved him into a tie for third-place entering the final round. Mayfield led the field in total pars (43), tied for the third-lowest par-3 scoring, and was 6-under on the par-5 layouts.
This is the first Eagle to claim the golfer of the week honor for the league since
Ryan Tattan did so Mar 25, 2021.
