- Winthrop is coming off its first loss of the season, 4-1 at South Carolina
- Freshman Ethan Stevenson scored his first collegiate goal in the loss to South Carolina as he tied the match in the first half
- Stevenson is now the fifth different player to score for the Eagles this season
- Bryant Jimenez-Pearce leads the team in scoring with four points
- Jimenez-Pearce is tied for the league lead in assists (2), tied for second with four points and tied for 4th with 2.0 points per game
- Stevenson along with fellow freshmen William Cardona and Brigham Larsen have each started the first two games
- This game marks the 922nd in the history of the program with 448 wins all-time
- Daniel Ridenhour is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Eagles after serving the previous 12 seasons as an associate/assistant coach

Sean Green's goal on the kickoff following the Stetson goal is ranked in the Top 5 all-time at the NCAA D1 level for the fastest consecutive goals by opposing teams. In the spring of 2021, Winthrop scored 12 seconds into the game at South Carolina as
Jonathan Foster netted one of the quickest goals in program history.
