Winthrop has lost two straight to Mercer, including the Bears last trip to Rock Hill in 2018 (2-0). This is the 10^th meeting all-time and the series is even at 4-4-1. Winthrop's last win over Mercer came in 2016 in Spartanburg, S.C. in a 2-0 victory.

Sean Green's goal on the kickoff following the Stetson goal is ranked in the Top 5 all-time at the NCAA D1 level for the fastest consecutive goals by opposing teams. In the spring of 2021, Winthrop scored 12 seconds into the game at South Carolina as Jonathan Foster netted one of the quickest goals in program history.

BIG SOUTH AWARDS
Brigham Larsen – Freshman of the Week

• Scored two second half goals in the 3-1 win over Furman that included the game-winner in the 58^th minute
• Continuing to apply pressure offensively, Larsen added an insurance goal in the 89^th minute

Winthrop will return home on Saturday, Oct. 2 for its Big South Conference Opener against UNC Asheville at 5 p.m.
