Rock Hill, S.C.— Winthrop Men's Soccer looks to bounce back from its home-opening loss last weekend as it Georgia State comes to town for a 5 p.m. matchup Saturday evening.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS GEORGIA STATE
Winthrop and Georgia State meet for the 6
th time and 4
th time out of the last five seasons. The teams last met in 2019 in Atlanta, Ga. as the Panthers scored three second-half goals in a span of 19 minutes to earn a 4-0 victory. The Panthers lead the all-time series 4-1.
FOOT NOTES
- Eagles coming off a loss to UNC Greensboro in their home opener in which they allowed three goals in the first 11:56 and never recovered
- Winthrop was shutout for the first time this season as it had averaged 2.7 goals over the course of the first three matches

- Daniel Ridenhour is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Eagles after serving the previous 12 seasons as an associate/assistant coach

Sean Green's goal on the kickoff following the Stetson goal is ranked in the Top 5 all-time at the NCAA D1 level for the fastest consecutive goals by opposing teams. In the spring of 2021, Winthrop scored 12 seconds into the game at South Carolina as
Jonathan Foster netted one of the quickest goals in program history.

Brigham Larsen – Freshman of the Week
- Scored two second half goals in the 3-1 win over Furman that included the game-winner in the 58th minute
- Continuing to apply pressure offensively, Larsen added an insurance goal in the 89th minute
