Game Recap
- The Spartans grabbed an early with a goal in the 4th minute as Joseph Skinner redirected a corner by Basile Marc at the near post
- In the 7th minute, Theo Collomb slipped a pass to J.C. Ngando about 20 yards out from goal and he fired a shot that deflected off the foot of a defender on its way toward the frame and sailed into the top right corner
- UNCG found itself with a three-goal lead in the 12th minute when Theo Quartey drew a penalty and then stepped in and scored
- Moments after the Eagles created a scoring chance as a ball was served to the back post but Conor Stephens header to the lower right corner was saved
- UNCG made it 4-0 in the 63rd minute as the Eagles turned the ball over in the defensive third as Ngando stole the ball and then slipped a pass to Theo Collomb in the box as he placed a shot into the net
- Spartans added another in the 70th minute as Jack Birch knocked a long ball down the right side to Sam Coad who crossed the ball in front for Collomb with the finish
Notables
- UNCG finished with a 14-8 advantage in shots (shots were even 8-8 with five minutes left in the game)
- Sam Bell finished with three saves while Niclas Wild had four to earn the shutout
Looking Ahead
Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. when they host Georgia State. The game is part of a doubleheader with the women's team who takes on Longwood at 1 p.m.
