Charleston, S.C. – The Eagles find themselves back in the win column after a pair of runs in the 11
th inning gave them the 4-2 win over Charleston Southern Friday night. Winthrop was backed by four scoreless innings in relief from
Dalton Mims.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first for both sides, Ty Hooks ripped the first home run of his collegiate career to give Winthrop a 1-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the 3rd, Charleston Southern evened the scored when C Maggio came home on a wild pitch.
- Houston Parker gave the Bucs their first lead of the night with a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the 5th inning, 2-1.
- Jason Crumley took over in the bottom of the 6th, with two on and one out. He pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief before Dalton Mims came out of the bullpen.
- Tyler Baker and Scout McFalls singled in back-to-back at-bats to lead-off the 6th inning.
- Andrew Jenner singled up the left side, scoring Tyler Baker to even things out at two apiece.
- Both sides would go down quietly in the 7th, 8th and 9th inning to force extra innings.
- In the top of the 11th, Joey Tepper's patience paid off, drawing a walk and giving the Eagles a base runner. He advanced to second before coming home on an Andrew-Jenner single to left, breaking the tie, 3-2.
- Jenner stole second before Ty Hooks drove him home with a single to center field, taking a 4-2 lead.
- Dalton Mims pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the 11th to give Winthrop the win.
