BUIES CREEK, N.C. – An offensive spark late in the game lifted Campbell over Winthrop Tuesday night, 12-3. The Eagles are now 15-25 overall with a 12-18 mark against Big South opponents.

HOW TO HAPPENED
- Cody Whitten walked the first batter he faced, who eventually scored on a sac fly to take a 1-0 lead after the 1st inning.
- In the top of the 2nd, the Eagles evened the score at one when Andrew Jenner beat out the tag at home on Jonathan Strauss' sac fly to centerfield.
- Whitten pitched around runners on second and third to keep things tied going into the top of the 3rd.
- Strauss chased down a deep fly ball with two on and one out to keep Campbell off the board in the 3rd. Whitten got Matthew Christian to fly out in the next at-bat to end the inning.
- Winthrop took its first lead of the evening in the top of the 4th when Ty Hooks doubled in Jenner, who singled earlier in the inning, to take a 2-1 advantage.
- Campbell regained the lead in the bottom of the 4th with a run scoring off a throwing error and Mason De La Cruz scoring off a Bryce Arnold single to take a 3-2 lead.
- Daniel Blair came in in relief in the bottom of the 5th, pitching just one inning giving up one run. Campbell led 4-2 after five innings.
- Spencer Yankle laced a double on the second pitch he saw in the 6th before Jenner singled in the next at-bat. Yankle scored when Joe McNamara singled to right, making it a one-run game, 4-3.
- Aaron White entered the game with one on in the 6th and got the only batter he faced out on a sac bunt. Dalton Mims was next in line out of the pen and gave up back-to-back singles. Garrett Gainey came in to close out the inning but the Camels had put up four runs off four hits and an error, leading 8-3.
- The Camels didn't let up, putting up one run in the 7th and another three in the bottom of the 8th, highlighted by a base-clearing triple off the bat of Marcus Skundrich.
- The Eagles fell to the Camels Tuesday night, 12-3.
ON DECK
Winthrop will return home for the remainder of the regular season, hosting Longwood on May 14-15. First pitch of Friday's single game is scheduled for 3 p.m. while Saturday's double header will begin at 12 p.m. at the Winthrop Ballpark. Earlier in the season the Eagles took 2-of-3 from the Lancers and have won nine of the last 10 matchups.
