Buies Creek, N.C. – The Eagles dropped both games of Friday's double-header to the Camels. Campbell secured the 6-5 win in the first game with a walk-off sac fly. Winthrop's bats went quiet in Game 2, falling 8-1. The Eagles are now 8-9 overall, 5-4 against Big South opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
- Luke Hannum draws a five-pitch lead-off walk but can't muster up anything else as the side is retired with a double play.
- Waldy Arias led off the bottom of the first by reaching second on an error.
- Bryce Arnold grounded out to second for the first out of the inning.
- Zach Neto walked on full count and stole second.
- Spencer Packard walked in the next at-bat to load up the bases with Campbell threatening to do some real damage early on.
- Jonathan Strauss laid out on Collin Wolf's sac fly to limit Campbell's damage to just 1-0 after the first.
- The Eagles even the score with a two-out single to right center off the bat of Joe McNamara, bringing home Scout McFalls who singled up the middle earlier in the inning.
- The tied ballgame didn't last long with Campbell going up 2-1 off a Lawson Harrill two-out homer.
- Despite back-to-back singles off the bats of Hannum and Joey Tepper to lead off the third inning, Winthrop couldn't get any runs across and still trailed by one.
- Tyler Jones worked around a lead-off double to keep Campbell scoreless in the bottom of the 3rd.
- The Eagles went down 1,2,3 in the 4th.
- Once again, Jones worked around trouble after giving up a lead-off double, followed by a single to keep it a 2-1 contest through four innings.
- Tyler Baker started things off in the 5th by getting on base off an error and advancing to second when Hannum grounded out.
- Tepper was given a base after getting hit, giving Winthrop two base runners with one out.
- Spencer Yankle singled up the right side, bringing home Tepper and Baker to take a 3-2 lead.
- In the next at-bat, McFalls doubled, bringing home Yankle to top off a three-run 5th inning.
- The Camels went down in order in the bottom of the 5th.
- Winthrop had runners in scoring position with two outs when Campbell made a call to the bullpen. Both get stranded with Winthrop still leading 4-2.
- Wolf led off the bottom of the 6th with a double to left center and advanced to third on an error.
- That would come back to bite the Eagles when Matthew Christian hit a shot deep enough to right field, sending Wolf home to make it a 4-3 contest.
- The Camels would strike again in the bottom of the 7th. With runners on second and third, Packard hit a shot to right bringing home both base runners, regaining the lead, 5-4.
- The 8th inning was scoreless for both teams.
- Yankle came in clutch with a two-out triple in the bottom of the 9th to bring home Andrew Jenner all the way from first base to tie the game up at five.
- Colten Rendon gave up back-to-back singles to lead off the bottom of the 9th. Arnold came home on a sac fly to win the game in walk-off fashion, 6-5.
GAME 2
- The Eagles go down in order to start off the second game of Friday's double-header.
- Arias struck out swinging but reached first on a wild pitch to give the Camels a base runner.
- Andrew Coker then gave up back-to-back singles to put the Camels up 2-0 after an inning of play.
- Despite having Yankle and McFalls in scoring position with just one out, the Eagles come up empty handed in the top of the 2nd.
- Campbell strung together back-to-back singles to lead off the bottom of the 2nd to threaten early.
- In the next at-bat, Harrill would reach on a fielder's choice, bringing Halstead home for another run, 3-0.
- The Eagles went down in order in the top of the 3rd.
- Neto led off the bottom of the third with a single to the left side. He would then advance to second and third on consecutive wild pitches. Campbell would tack on a fourth run off a Wolf single to left.
- Another Campbell run would come home in the bottom of the 4th when Garrett Gainey balk bringing Harrill in from third. He walked earlier in the inning with one out. The Camels took a 5-0 lead into the 5th inning.
- The 5th inning was scoreless for both sides.
- The Eagles got on the board in the 6th inning. Tyler Baker led off the inning with a walk. He advanced to second on a wild pitch and ultimately came home on a throwing error. The Eagles still trailed the Camels, 5-1.
- In the bottom of the 6th, Arias was a threat on the bases, singling up the middle, advancing to second on a wild pitch and stealing third to get in scoring position. He came home on a two-out double to right field off the bat of Packard to extend their lead, 6-1.
- Campbell tacked on two additional runs in the bottom of the 8th off a two RBI single off the bat of Packard.
- The Camels would take Game 2, 8-1.
