- Coming off a series win over USC Upstate and held the league's top scoring offense to eight runs in three games (Upstate also has the league's top team batting average)
- Have now won five of the last six games home games
- In the last six home games the Eagles have a team ERA of 1.19 and have struck out 26 with four walks in 47 innings
- Madyson Watson leads the Big South in strikeouts, is second in wins, 4th in fewest walks allowed per game, 7th in ERA, and 7th in opposing batting average
- Watson held USC Upstate to 3 runs in 19 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts and one walk (Upstate averaged a run more than any other league team entering the series at 5.6 per game)
- Aisha Weixlmann ranks 10th in ERA, tied for 5th in wins, 6th in strikeouts and fourth in innings pitched
- Weixlmann tossed back-to-back shutouts in league action last weekend and was named the Big South Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday (Apr. 12)
- Macy McCall and Ansley Gilreath rank 4th and 5th in the Big South respectively in bating average
- McCall has a team-best .364 average followed by Gilreath at .362
- McCall leads the Big South in on-base percentage (.497), runs scored (38), walks (30), and stolen bases (37)
- McCall is four stolen bases away from breaking into the Big South Conference single-season Top 10 (record is 56)
- Gilreath leads the league in homeruns, slugging percentage, RBI and total bases
- Taylor Charlton homered for the sixth time in 14 games over the weekend vs. USC Upstate
- Charlton is batting .351 with 10 runs, six homeruns, 15 RBI and an on-base percentage of .457 in the last 14 games
- Her stretch of six homers in 14 games has moved her into second in the league with 10 homeruns on the season
HEAD COACH WINDY THEES
- Head coach Windy Thees is in her third season at Winthrop and in her 17th season as head coach of a collegiate softball program
- Spent five seasons at Georgia State & College compiling a 163-92 record followed by six years at Memphis (172-151) and three seasons at Ole Miss (69-94)
- In her 17 seasons she's compiled an overall record of 468-395 and a record of 305-303 at the helm of a D1 program
- Led Ole Miss to five wins over nationally-ranked opponents that included a 2-0 victory at #1 Florida in 2014
- In 2003 she led Georgia State & College to a runner-up finish in the Division II National Championship
- Thees was a four-year starter at Florida State as both a catcher and second baseman
RECORD BOOK WATCH
- Westbrooks now has 130 career RBI, which is tied for 4th on the all-time list
- She needs 15 to become the all-time leader in RBI at Winthrop
- Gilreath now has 116 career RBI and is all alone in 8th all-time
- Gilreath moved into 2nd on the all-time homerun list with 32 while Westbrooks is now all alone in 5th with 24
- With 71 career walks, Gilreath is 5th all-time while Westbrooks has 63 career walks and is 8th all-time
- Westbrooks is 9th on the all-time hit list with 198 (2 back of 8th and 13 from 5th)
- Westbrooks is also moving up the ranks in doubles with 39 in her career, which is 8th
- Watson broke into the program's Top 10 for career wins and reached 300 career strikeouts in the win over Furman
- She then became the 8th play in program history to reach 400 career strikeouts
- Watson is now 7th all-time in strikeouts with 430
