- The 303 is the third best opening round by a Winthrop team in its Big South Championship history
- Only the 1999 (301) and 2017 (302) teams have shot a lower first round score
- Winthrop as a group was ready to play as three of the five Eagles birdied their first hole of the day
- Alexis Brindley birdied two of her first three holes and made the turn at 2-under
- After a bogey on 11, 13 and 15, Alexis Brindley birdied 18 to finish at even par (T7)
- Sarah Funderburg finished with three straight birdies to shoot 80, but her finish was key to move the Eagles from T6 to T4 with High Point
- Valentine Savioz also made the turn at 2-under and after running into some trouble in the back nine she birdied 18 to shoot 74 (+2) and is T13
- The birdie on 18 by Savioz pushed the Eagles back even with High Point at T4
- Makenna Brindley finished the day T25 as she battled her way to a 5-over 77
- Winthrop finished fourth in the field in total birdies and fourth in Par 4 scoring (+16)
- Makenna Brindley and Savioz led the Eagles in Par 3 scoring at even par (tied for second-lowest among the field)
- Alexis Brindley tied the second-lowest Par 4 scoring in the field at 1-under and was also 1-under in Par 5 scoring the lead the team
