- The next 10 minutes was calm until the Eagles nearly took the lead as Jonathan Foster ran onto a ball 1v1 with the keeper and tried to slip a shot by but Jacob Reimers stood tall and blocked the shot
- Longwood countered and served a ball in the box that found Tosin Ayokunle for a shot that was stopped by Dean DePinto
- The save went to Owen Ludlow as his shot was stuffed by DePinto but the rebound went right to Ayokunle in front and he slotted it into the left corner from about 5 yards out in the 33rd minute
- Eagles had the first good scoring chance of the second half when Kyle Bardusch put a long ball behind the defense from out wide and Grayson Woodard ran on and as he crossed into the box his half volley sailed high and wide
- In the 58th minute it was Bardusch to Woodard again as he served a ball to the back post but Woodard just couldn't get over it as his header sailed over the bar
- In the 65th minute, Michael Smith received a pass just outside the edge of the 18 and turned toward the middle and fired a shot headed toward the upper left side of the frame but was just tipped wide by Reimers
- Winthrop tied the match in the 88th minute on its 10th corner of the match as Bryant Jimenez-Pearce served the ball to the near post and it was flicked on to the back post by Taeyoon Oh
- Grayson Woodard got on the other end of Oh's flick and his left footed shot from a tight angle found the far right corner of the goal
- The Lancers regained the lead in the 89th minute as they were awarded a free kick wide and outside of the box to the right of DePinto
- Markus Gronli's service was right in front of goal as Wes Forst ran on and headed it home into the left side of the goal
