Farmville, VA – The Eagles and Lancer split Saturday's double-header with Winthrop taking Game 1, 6-5, and Longwood winning Game 2, 7-3.

GAME 1
- The afternoon started quiet for both the Eagles and the Lancers with neither putting a run across in the first two innings.
- The Eagles struck first with Luke Hannum coming home on a wild pitch in the top of the 3rd inning.
- Eliot Dix evened things up in Longwood's half of inning with a long shot to right field.
- The 4th inning saw both teams record a hit but no runs come across to keep things tied at one.
- Winthrop broke things open in the 5th inning, putting up four runs in the inning, all with two outs.
- Joseph Szvetitz doubled down the right field line, bringing home Andrew Jenner, Spencer Yankle and Joey Tepper, putting the Eagles ahead 4-1.
- Ty Hooks singled in the next at-bat, bringing home Szvetitz.
- Tyler Jones sat Longwood down 1,2,3 in their half of the 5th inning.
- Winthrop got another run across in the 6th inning, with a double off the bat of Dillon Morton, bringing home Hannum.
- The Lancers chipped away at the Eagles lead, putting up two runs off a single down the right field line off the bat of Jack Schnell, making it a 6-3 game through six innings.
- Longwood put up two more runs in the bottom of the 8th inning when Justin Looney doubled to right center scoring Schnell and Dix, making it a 6-5 game with an inning to play.
- Winthrop hangs on for the 6-5 lead.
GAME 2
- Winthrop wasted no time getting things started in the bottom of the first, going up 1-0 when Joey Tepper scored on an error.
- Andrew Coker gave up one hit in the first but made it through the first unscathed.
- Winthrop stranded three runners on base in their half of the 2nd inning.
- Coker sat the Lancers down in order in the second.
- Longwood tied things up at one in the bottom of the third off a Dix single to the right side that scored Michael Dolberry.
- Hannum doubled to center field, scoring Hooks in the top of the 4th to go ahead, 2-1.
- Will Martin kept things rolling in the 6th inning, singling up the middle, scoring Hooks to make it a 3-1 game.
- Longwood tied the game at three off a Hayden Harris single that brought home Schnell, while Dolberry doubled in the next at-bat, bringing home Ricky Jimenez.
- The Lancer's broke the game open in the bottom of the 8th, putting up four runs to pull ahead of the Eagles, 7-3. The four-run inning was capped off by a Dix two-run homer.
- Morton singled to lead off the ninth inning and advanced to second off a passed ball.
- Yankle grounded out in the next at-bat and after hitting Jenner with the next pitch, got Szvetitz and Watson to strike out to secure the win.
