Rock Hill, S.C.— Winthrop softball heads to nationally-ranked South Carolina for a single-game midweek contest Wednesday evening at Carolina Softball Stadium. Then the Eagles will head to Statesboro, Ga. to take on Georgia Southern and College of Charleston in the Eagles Round Robin.

• Head coach Windy Thees is in her third season at Winthrop and in her 17^th season as head coach of a collegiate softball program
• Spent five seasons at Georgia State & College compiling a 163-92 record followed by six years at Memphis (172-151) and three seasons at Ole Miss (69-94)
• In her 17 seasons she's compiled an overall record of 453-378 and a record of 290-286 at the helm of a D1 program
• Led Ole Miss to five wins over nationally-ranked opponents that included a 2-0 victory at #1 Florida in 2014
• In 2003 she led Georgia State & College to a runner-up finish in the Division II National Championship
• Thees was a four-year starter at Florida State as both a catcher and second baseman

RECORD BOOK WATCH

• Westbrooks enters the season with 114 career RBI and 7^th all-time
• She needs 32 to become the all-time leader in RBI at Winthrop
• Gilreath moved into 3^rd all alone on the all-time homerun list with 27 while Westbrooks is tied for 6^th  all-time with 22 homeruns
• With 60 career walks, Gilreath is tied for 8^th all-time
• Westbrooks has 54 career walks which is two away from cracking the career Top 10
• Westbrooks is 14^th on the all-time hit list with 179 and 17 hits away from cracking the Top 10
• Westbrooks is also moving up the ranks in doubles with 35 in her career, which is tied for 8^th (three away from 7^th place)
• Watson is two wins away from the program's Top 10 and reached 300 career strikeouts in the win over Furman
• Watson is now 10^th all-time in strikeouts and becomes the 10^th player in program history to record 300 strikeouts in a career
• Her 325 career strikeouts is one behind Sutton Watson for 8^th place all-time
