- Asheville applied the pressure on the offensive end in the 30 minutes of the match
- The Bulldogs had 10 shots with six of them on frame over the course of the first 28 minutes
- Winthrop's first shot of the game came in the 35th minute as Leah Greene's shot was saved by Courtney O'Malley
- The game was scoreless at the half with the Bulldogs holding an 11-3 advantage in shots
- Eagles broke the tie in the 53rd minute when Bella Hovis delivered a ball in front of goal and Katie Colwick ran on and headed it home
- Winthrop made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute as the goal came moments after a corner kick
- Mackenzie Scandrett took the corner that was punched out to the top of the 18 by the goalie
- Katy Feskorn took a shot that was deflected right to Lauren Uptegrove who settled, turned and slipped a shot by the goalie for the two goal lead
- The Bulldogs had 22-9 advantage in shots, and 8-5 in shots on goal
- Ashlynn Harris made eight saves to record her first shutout of the year and fifth of her career
