WHAT HAPPENED
vs. Florida Atlantic
- The Owls took the first lead of the game with two runs in the top of the first inning
- Madyson Watson answers back with back-to-back-to-back strike outs
- In the bottom on the third Macy McCall draws a walk and steals her first base of the season but is left on base
- Lauren King gets the first hit for the eagles singling to right field, advancing on a sac bunt from Kaitlyn Tucker
- A single to right field by Chloe Baker moves King to third base, followed by a single to center field by Bailey Warren getting the Eagles their first run of the game
- Warren gets into a groove striking out four batters in the third and fourth inning
- Bottom of the fourth Bailey draws a walk and advances on a single up the middle by Kaitlyn Tucker
- Eagles put some pressure on Owl's pitching in the bottom of the fifth. McCall works the count and draws a walk, advancing to second after Taylor Charlton singled to right field forcing the Owl's to make a pitching change
- With one out, Ansley Gilreath took a pitch to left field for her first homerun of the season giving the Eagles the lead
- Macy McCall follows up with a single up the middle
- Both teams get a runner on in the sixth but are both left stranded
- The Owl's draw a walk in the top of the seventh to post a threat, but can't get her across
WHAT HAPPENED
vs. Florida International
- The Panthers led the bottom with a single but got caught stealing by Charlton
- Top of the second inningGilreath led off with her second homerun of the day deep to centerfield
- With two outs in the third McCall showed some power with a triple to centerfield but was stranded
- Panthers pushed five across in the third inning to take the lead
- The inning was highlighted by a two-run single from Gallegos and a two-run single by Garcia
- Panthers added three more in the fourth as Gallegos provided a two-run double
EXTRA BASES
- Gilreath moved into a tie for 5th all-time at Winthrop with 22 career homeruns
- Girlreath also moved into the 80-RBI club and now ranks 19th in program history with 82
- Watson matched her career-high with nine strikeouts in her complete game victory over FAU
