How it Happened
Set 1 | Winthrop took an early 2-0 lead, but the Bulldogs battled back to take a 5-4 lead. The teams see-sawed back and forth before the Eagles took a 15-12 lead and cruised to a 25-16 victory. Kills by

Set 2 | The second set saw both teams battle hard early on before the Eagles took a 5-3 lead and never relinquished it the rest of the way. Leading 10-8, Winthrop went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-8 lead and extended it to 20-10 a short time later. The Eagles went on to win the set 25-14.

Set 3 | Asheville took an early 5-2 lead in the third set and rarely looked back. The Bulldogs stretched the lead out to 11-4, but Winthrop closed to within 14-11 to make things interesting. However, Asheville won 11 of the last 14 points to easily take the set by a 25-14 score.
Set 4 | Once again, the teams see-sawed back and forth before the Eagles took a 10-6 lead. Asheville kept the lead within four at 14-10, but Winthrop took a 18-10 lead and dominated the rest of the way for a 25-14 victory.
