Game Recap

  • In the 78th minute Amy Swain dribbled toward the middle of the field just outside the box and fired a shot toward the top of the goal to the left of Izzy Giarrizzi who was forced to make a diving save as she just tipped the ball over the bar
  • Moments later a shot by a Radford player was blocked and deflected toward Marianella Gillum as she tried to head the ball away but it went to a Radford player
  • Gillum moved over to defend the ball and a pass was intercepted by Sadie Guest and about to clear when the whistle blew awarding Radford a penalty kick
  • A handball was called on Gillum on her header attempt and Brianna Oliver stepped up and converted the penalty for a 1-0 lead in the 80th minute
  • Eagles got a corner in the 85th minute and the ball spurted backwards as the Eagles were pressed forward as Amy Swain picked up the loose ball on her own side of the field and dribbled with speed for a one-on-one with Giarrizzi and buried a shot into the left corner on the counter
