Charlotte, N.C. - Gabriel Dias has been named to the Big South All-Academic team, for a second consecutive season, announced by the league office Thursday afternoon. 

The senior from Joinville, Brazil, is majoring in business administration, with a concentration in international business and economics while earning a 3.65 GPA. 

During his time at Winthrop, Dias has served as the Winthrop SAAC president, Vice President and Community Engagement Representative. He also serves as the Big South SAAC Representative for the NCAA. He is a 2-time ITA Scholar Athlete and in 2017 earned Second-Team All-Big South honors in singles play and in 2018 was Second-Team All-Big South in doubles play for his impressive 11-2 overall mark with his partner, Josh Ryan.  

Dias served as team captain for the 2020 season and after returning from injury, posted a 2-1 doubles record with James Hartson at the No. 3 position.
