Lacrosse Drops Contest To Cal Sunday, 11-7

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Eagles move to 0-3 on the season after falling to Cal on Sunday afternoon, 11-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of Sunday's contest was low scoring. Cal took an early 3-0 lead before Lauren Asher netted a goal at the 13:20 mark. McKenna Blick netted a goal of her own to make the halftime score, 3-2. The Bears opened the half with three unanswered goals before Asher scored to make it a 6-3 game. Cal responded with a goal off a free position shot before Mia Creighton scored two consecutive goals to make it a 7-5 game. In the remaining 15 minutes of play, Cal netted two goals to take a four goal lead before Creighton scored her third of the game, assisted by Alyssa Angelo. The Bears would score twice more, while Creighton would record her fourth goal of the game to finish with a score of 11-7 in favor of the visiting team.

  • Mia Creighton led the Eagles with four goals, while Lauren Asher recorded three points off two goals and an assist.
