Box Score Charlotte, N.C.— Madyson Watson had a career game at the plate and earned the win in the circle to lead Winthrop to a 17-0 win over Delaware State on the first day of the Green & White Classic.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Eagles led 2-0 after an inning as they manufactured the runs off an error and groundout
- Winthrop pushed three more across in the second inning for a 5-0 lead
- With one out, A.G. Gardner singled followed by Tori Walker drawing a walk on a nine pitch at-bat (fouling off four pitches)
- Sabrina Shroades singled up the middle, scoring Gardner from second and moved to second on the throw
- Ashley Westbrooks flied out to left for a sacrifice fly, scoring Walker from third
- Ansley Gilreath picked up her second RBI of the game with a single up the middle with two outs for the five run lead
- Madyson Watson led off the third inning with a solo shot to left center
- Makayla Cyzick followed with a double to right center and then scored as Lauren King doubled to right for a 7-0 lead
- Two batters later with runners at second and third, Shroades stood in and delivered another single for a 9-0 lead
- Watson's two-run homerun in the fourth highlighted a four-run inning
EXTRA BASES
- Eagles posted a season-high 17 runs and tied a season-high 13 hits
- Shroades drove in three runs for the second straight game
- Walker extended her streak of reaching base to 12 games while Westbrooks and Taylor Charlton have reached in six straight
- Westbrooks scored three runs in the game and now has 92 in her career as she looks to become the 6th player in program history with 100 career RBI and runs
