Eagles Erase Double-Digit Deficit But Come Up Short Against Spartans Friday Night

Rock Hill, S.C. – The Eagles erased a 19-point deficient but just couldn't complete the comeback over the USC Upstate Spartans on Friday night at the Coliseum, falling 56-49. Winthrop falls to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in Big South play.

    QUARTER 1
  • Maleeah Langstaff opened the scoring for Winthrop at the 9:06 mark to tie the game at two each

  • Winthrop tied the game with 7:29 remaining off a clutch 3-pointer at the hands of Tori Hall
  • The Spartans would pull away in the last two and a half minutes, holding Winthrop and going on a 9-0 run
