The Eagles had a hard time getting shots to fall in the first quarter, putting up 11 points after 10 minutes of play and trailing 22-11. Winthrop got a second-quarter spark from

Sydney Hunter recorded a career-high six rebounds in the first half alone, finishing with seven on the afternoon. Wofford's Jackie Carmen drilled a buzzer-beating 3-pointer as time expired to give the Terriers a 36-24 lead at halftime.
Strickland picked up right where she left off, draining a 3-pointer and a jumper to open the second half. The Eagles went on a 12-2 run to cut Wofford's lead to just four points, 40-36, with 6:14 remaining in the third quarter. The Eagles would cool down after that run and trail by eight with 10 minutes to play. Wofford's Niyah Lutz drained a 3-pointer just eight seconds into the fourth quarter and set the tone for the remainder of the contest. Winthrop fought hard but Wofford took their largest lead of the afternoon, 17 points, with 2:52 remaining in the contest and won the game, 65-50.
