Game Recap
- In the early going, Jordan Walshaw tested the Stetson goalkeeper Lute Lillo-Portero in the 6th minute with a shot to the lower left corner unable to slip it by
- Less than 30 seconds later Stetson had its first shot as Gio Rodriguez ripped a shot inside the box that Aidan McCormick was able to deflect wide for a corner
- In the 20th minute McCormick made a big save as he initially stopped a shot by Sebastian Chalbaud as Finn Busmann followed and his close range shot was turned away by McCormick
- In the 38th minute, it looked as if the Eagles grabbed the lead as Walshaw redirected a cross straight on from goal but a delayed offside call nullified the goal
- Stetson took a 1-0 lead into the half as it found the back of the net with 25 seconds remaining
- Brendan Clark knocked a long ball that bounced over the head of Andreas Jackson and Chris Degance ran onto the ball and flicked it in past McCormick for the lead
- Eagles applied some offensive pressure with about 20-25 minutes left, had a few shots blocked and some connections just missed off crosses into the box
- Hatters added an insurance goal in the 89th minute on a counter as Busmann received a pass from Rodriguez on the box and slotted a shot home into the lower left corner
Notables
- McCormick finished with eight saves, one shy of his career-high he set at College of Charleston last season
- Walshaw led the Eagles with three shots, all three on goal
Looking Ahead
The Eagles look to end their losing streak on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. when they head to Atlanta, GA to take on Georgia State.
