ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop women's soccer looks for its first win of the young 2019 season Saturday as they welcome Wofford to Eagle Field Saturday evening for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff. Winthrop enters the contest 0-1 on the season while the Terriers enter the game 1-1 through their first two contests, a 5-1 win over South Carolina State followed by a 3-0 defeat at Charleston Southern.
Winthrop dropped its first contest of 2019 by a 2-0 score to Davidson on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles came up short despite outshooting the Wildcats 14-8 on an afternoon that possession was quite even but two second half goals pushed Davidson to a road victory.
Saturday's game marks the first meeting between the schools since August 23, 2013 when the Eagles topped the Terriers 1-0 at Eagle Field.
