2018-19 All-American Scholars
ROCK HILL, SC—Four members of the Winthrop women's golf team were named 2018-19 All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).
Alexis Brindley,
Chelsea Dantonio,
Sarah Funderburg and
Julie Reinertsen were among 1,097 women's collegiate golfers to be recognized with this prestigious honor. It was the fourth straight year that Dantonio and Reinertsen earned the recognition. This is the second straight year for Brindley and the first time for Funderburg.
The criteria for selection as an All-American Scholar is some of the most stringent in all of collegiate athletics and requires a minimum GPA of 3.50. Winthrop has had at least three members receive the honor each year since the 2011-12 season and at least one achieve the honor for the last 15 seasons.
