ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop looks to turn the page following this past weekend's series against Radford where the Eagles were swept in three games by the Highlanders, with Saturday's and Sunday's losses coming in blowout fashion. Tuesday is Winthrop's second game against Furman in 2019, with the Paladins winning the first matchup 14-5 at the Winthrop Ballpark on March 26. Winthrop has lost four straight games overall and is 14-13 on the season with a 6-3 mark in Big South play.
Furman is coming off a three game sweep of the Citadel in Greenville this weekend, moving the Paladins back to .500 in SOCON play at 3-3. Furman's series against the Citadel was similar to Winthrop's against Radford, with a one-run game on Friday night (5-4) being followed by much wider margins of victory on Saturday and Sunday (20-6 and 7-2 in the series finale). Furman has won six straight games, a streak that began by snapping Winthrop's eight game winning streak last Tuesday in Rock Hill.
