ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop women's basketball was unable to snap its losing streak as they fell to Georgia Southern 91-47 on Tuesday night.

Anika Riley gave the Eagles a quick 4-2 edge over Georgia Southern. GS responded with a 13-4 run.
Myra Strickland just missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the first 10 minutes of play. GS didn't slow down in the second quarter. They opened with a 16-2 run. Georgia Southern recorded 21 first-half second chance points, Winthrop had two. Winthrop was 0-5 in 3-point attempts in the first half. The Eagles posted a game-high 13 points in the third quarter. A 15-5 run in the fourth quarter sealed the deal for Georgia Southern.
