Max Hasenstab. The last four in the series to win the matchup held the other team scoreless as the Eagles have back-to-back shutouts against the Terries.
A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
Winthrop opened the season last Saturday with a 6-0 win over Georgia Southwestern as it scored four first half goals.
Jordan Walshaw had his hand in four of the six games as there were six different goal scorers. Freshman
Alfie Rogers took just 25 seconds to make an impact as he scored on his first of his first collegiate game. Walshaw assisted on the second, fourth and sixth goals while scoring the fifth on a penalty in the 54
th minute.
Aidan McCormick and
Jack Pondy each played 45 minutes in net to combine for a shutout. In addition to Rogers netting his first goal as an Eagle,

Marc Carreras and
Davis Bryan also scored their first.
TAKING ON THE PEACH STATE
The Eagles have four programs on their schedule from the state of Georgia this season. In addition to the season opener against Georgia Southwestern the Eagles take on Mercer and Georgia State while traveling to Georgia Southern. The same three teams were on Winthrop's schedule in 2017 as the Eagles fell 3-2 in overtime at Georgia State and Georgia Southern 2-1 while earning a draw at Mercer (1-1).
BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Winthrop was picked sixth in the Big South preseason poll as High Point was voted as the favorite with 7-of-9 first-place votes. High Point was followed by Radford, Campbell, Presbyterian College and Gardner-Webb. Tied for 7
