Eagles Suffer Second-Straight Walk-Off Home Run Loss At Charleston Southern

Willcutt goes complete game for second-consecutive Sunday.

CHARLESTON, S.C. – For the second-straight game, Winthrop (21-25, 13-8 Big South Conference) was defeated by a walk-off home run as Charleston Southern (15-31, 6-15 Big South Conference) earned a 2-1 win in the series finale Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Eagles and Bucs battled through four scoreless frames before the Eagles broke the stalemate in the top of the 5th inning.

-Dillon Morton hit a double in the 6th, but no other baserunners or hits in the inning ended the scoring threat.

-The Eagles also got runners to 2nd and 3rd in the 7th inning, but were unable to capitalize.

-CSU tied up the ballgame at 1-1 in the bottom of the 8th on a fielder's choice.

-Winthrop left two on base in the top of the 9th, with McFalls advancing to third base.

-Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 9th, CSU's Derek Horton hit a solo home run for the walk-off 2-1 win.
