COACHES QUOTE
Head Coach Mark Cooke~
"Our kids played unbelievable today. Kiley was awesome, I thought our defense was awesome but we just couldn't get a hit when we needed. I thought Kiley threw two great games in this series. We gave everything we had. I told the team if this is my last game as a college coach we went out kicking, screaming and what I ride. I'm just proud of how they performed."

WHAT HAPPENED
  • Liberty threatened in the bottom of the first as Autumn Bishop drew a leadoff walk and Amber Bishop followed with a double to right field off the glove of a driving Shayna Covington
  • The Eagles caught a break as the wild pitch by Kiley Majette was easily playable for Logan Webb as she tossed the ball back to Majette at home plate in time to nail Autumn Bishop trying to score
  • Majette recorded the next two outs to keep the game scoreless
  • Flames threatened again in the third inning as two throwing errors by the Eagles put runners at second and third but Majette worked out of the jam
  • Eagles had one of their best chances to break the tie in the sixth as Morgan Lowers singled with two outs and advanced to second on a wild pitch
  • Blake Wallert battled at the plate fouling off six pitches and missing a single down the right field line by inches but flied out to left to end the threat
  • Liberty had back-to-back singles just out of the reach of shortstop Jill Derrick to start the sixth and then loaded the bases on a bunt single
  • Majette did a good job to keep the damage minimal but the Flames did score one run on a sacrifice fly by Alexia Taylor, which proved to be the game-winning run
  • The Eagles did threaten in the 7th inning as Ansley Gilreath ripped a single to left center with one out
  • Kamryn Culp came in to pinch-run for Gilreath and hustled to second to get into scoring position on a foul out to left field
  • Tori Walker came up with a chance to tie the game and battled at the plate on eight pitches as she roped a couple of shots down the left field line before grounding out to the pitcher to end the game
  • Majette finished the game allowing one run on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts as she falls to 10-16
  • Julia DiMartino improved to 25-7 on the year as she allowed no runs on five hits with six strikeouts over seven innings
