Eagles Hit the Road to Battle Radford Saturday at 3 p.m.

ROCK HILL, SC – Looking to extend both its conference and overall winning streak, the Winthrop lacrosse team heads to Radford, VA Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Highlanders.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Winthrop put forth a dominating performance Wednesday afternoon against Presbyterian, downing the Blue Hose 21-4.  The Eagles limited Presbyterian to only one first-half goal.  Nicole Beatson led the team with seven points on five goals and two assists while Katie Clark added two goals and three assists and Kristen Shriver recorded three assists and one goal.
 
For the fourth consecutive week, multiple Eagles are ranked highly in statistical categories in both the Big South and the NCAA.  Beatson leads the Big South and the NCAA in goals (57) and goals per game (4.75).  Shriver is second in the NCAA in total assists (34) and third in assists per game (2.83).  Katherine Judge leads the Big South in draw controls per game (7.58) and ranks fifth in the NCAA.  As a team, Winthrop leads the Big South in draw controls per game (15.83) and is 12th in the country. 
 
SCOUTING RADFORD
Radford enters Saturday's contest with a 4-7 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the Big South.  The Highlanders are coming off a quality road victory over Longwood Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Highlanders have been led offensively this season by Callie Bonnel who has totaled 33 goals.  Adrian Rius has added 23 goals to the cause and Emma Rogers leads the team with 12 assists to go along with 10 goals.  Jenny Davis has played the majority of minutes in goal this season, allowing 13.6 goals per game while making 44 percent of her saves.
 
ALL-TIME AGAINST RADFORD
Radford is in only its third year of Division I lacrosse and the Eagles and Highlanders have met three times in the last two years with Winthrop picking up victories in all three.  The last meeting was in the quarterfinals of the Big South Tournament last season as the Eagles won 20-10.
 
WHAT'S UP NEXT
Winthrop will return home for its next Big South matchup.  The Eagles will host Campbell Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Eagle Field.  Winthrop will be looking for some revenge on the Camels as they eliminated the Eagles from the Big South Tournament last season.
