EAGLES AT A GLANCE
Despite falling Wednesday night to the nationally-ranked High Point Panthers, the Eagles proved to be a formidable foe.  Katherine Judge and Nicole Beatson tied for the team lead with five goals each while Beatson added an assist.  Judge added to her scoreline with seven ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers.

Beatson is currently chasing the Big South single-season record for both goals and total points.  Beatson has scored 72 goals this season which sits six back of former Eagle Jenna Kasmarik's 78-goal performance in 2015.  Beatson also has 88 points which is six shy of the 93-point record held by former Longwood Lancer Katie McHugh.

Multiple Eagles continue to be ranked highly in statistical categories in both the Big South and the NCAA.  Beatson leads the Big South and the NCAA in goals (72) and goals per game (4.50).  Shriver is fourth in the NCAA in total assists (42) and sixth in assists per game (2.63).  Katherine Judge leads the Big South in draw controls per game (7.38) and ranks sixth in the NCAA.  As a team, Winthrop leads the Big South in draw controls per game (14.69).

SCOUTING GARDNER-WEBB
Gardner-Webb enters the regular-season finale with a 3-13 overall record and a 1-5 mark in the Big South.  The Bulldogs picked up their first conference victory of the season and snapped an eight-game losing skid by downing Presbyterian Wednesday evening.

Amanda Steinmuller and Talen Francis have led the Bulldogs offensively this season with 38 and 32 goals respectively.  Steinmuller has added 20 assists for 58 points while Francis has added 12 assists for 44 points.  Katie Sylvester has played all but one game in goal this season, allowing just shy of 16 goals per contest while making 40 percent of her saves.

ALL-TIME AGAINST GARDNER-WEBB
Winthrop is unbeaten in three previous meetings with Gardner-Webb.  In three matches the Eagles have outscored the Bulldogs by almost 17 goals per game.

WHAT'S UP NEXT
The Big South Tournament will be next for the Eagles.  With a Winthrop win over Gardner-Webb and a Campbell win over Liberty Saturday, the Eagles will earn a first-round bye and not play until May 4 in the semi-finals.  If Liberty defeats Campbell then the Eagles will be the third seed and host a first round quarterfinal match the weekend of April 28.
