Davidson won the Atlantic 10 last season and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament, going on to win the Chapel Hill Regional. Davidson is 14th in the nation in home runs,
logging 26 on the season so far 10 different Wildcats have hit a long ball this season, with eight hitting more than one.

-After going 5-for-10 against PC over the weekend,
Cale Gibson raised his batting average to a team-high .328 and moved into the Big South top 10 at No. 9. Gibson hit two home runs in the series.

Mitch Spires currently owns a seven-game hitting streak, the longest among the Eagles, and has also recorded seven multiple-hit games, the most on the squad. Spires leads Winthrop in hits (26, tied for third in the Big South), nine of which are doubles, also a team- and conference-high.

Cody Whitten will be making his second-career start on the mound for the Eagles. His first appearance was brief, a 1.0 inning outing on the road at Clemson, giving up 2 hits and 4 runs. In his most recent and longest outing, Whitten pitched 4.0 innings in relief against UNCG, allowing 1 run on 4 hits.
