ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop baseball (8-13, 3-0 Big South) completed the three-game series sweep with a 7-4 victory over Presbyterian (5-16, 0-3 Big South) Sunday afternoon at The Winthrop Ballpark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-PC jumped on top first for the second-straight game with two runs in the first.

Matthew Mulkey hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the second to tie up the game at 3-3.

Cale Gibson joined Mulkey, also hitting his second home run of the series, a two-run score in the bottom of the fifth, that put the Eagles on top for good, a then 5-3 lead.

-The game marked the fourth-straight contest where the Eagles hit at least one home run.

Mitch Spires now has seven multiple-hits games, a team-high. The senior shortstop has recorded three hits in four games this season. Spires also owns a seven-game hitting streak, which is the longest current streak on the squad.
