HOW IT HAPPENED

Charleston Southern (10-18, 5-12) jumped out to an early 6-2 lead before Winthrop (3-25, 2-15) went on a 10-2 run, taking a 12-8 lead.  The Eagles maintained their four-point edge, 16-12, at the end of the opening period.

The Buccaneers vaulted themselves into the lead early in the fourth quarter and increased its lead to as much as five before the Eagles started their comeback. Over the last four minutes of the contest, the Eagles limited Charleston Southern to only one bucket, outscoring them 13-2 en route to the victory.
