2019 Baseball Schedule
ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop Baseball Head Coach
Tom Riginos has released the Eagles' schedule for the upcoming 2019 season, which begins with a three-game series against Toledo at the Winthrop Ballpark on Feb. 15-17.Â
The non-conference slate is highlighted by a three-game road series against Florida (Mar. 1-3), which finished 3
rd in the Baseball America Top 25. The Eagles will also have midweek contests at South Carolina on Feb. 19, at Clemson on Apr. 23, and at North Carolina on May 7. Winthrop will compete against Davidson at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, NC on Mar. 13 as a part of the Charlotte Knights Collegiate Series.
North Carolina finished fourth in the Baseball America Top 25 while South Carolina was 16
th, and Clemson 19

Coach Riginos is very excited about the 2019 schedule and once again feels it will challenge his team. "We have put together a very competitive schedule that will challenge our team each time we take the field."
The conference schedule that awaits the Eagles consists of four home series against Charleston Southern (Mar. 15-17), High Point (Apr. 5-7), Gardner-Webb (Apr. 18-20), and Campbell (May 10-12). The Big South schedule also holds five road series against Longwood (Mar. 22-24), Radford (Mar. 29-31), UNC Asheville (Apr. 12-14), Presbyterian College (May 3-5), and the regular season finale against USC Upstate (May 16-18). The Big South Tournament will be contested May 21-25 in Fayetteville, NC.
"Once again our Big South Conference schedule will be challenging with all the parity we have in the conference," said Riginos, "and we look forward to competing for the championship and the league's automatic bid to an NCAA Regional."
Six of the opponents in 2019 finished last season ranked in the Top 50 in scoring as Florida finished 12
th followed by North Carolina (13
th), Clemson (27
th), Wofford (35
th), South Carolina (38

rd with 98 followed by South Carolina (12

Winthrop is coming off a 25-31 season, with a 15-12 mark in conference play as it finished 4
