Game Recap
- Eagles gave up an early goal as Ismael Guerrero played a ball wide to Dylan Dominguez, who served a cross to the back post and Jack Hoey scored off the header for a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute
- The Eagles were getting forward and creating opportunities in the first half and finally broke through in the 41st minute
- Alfie Rogers battled for the ball around the edge of the box and the ball popped out toward Marc Carreras as he hit a screamer into the top right
- The tie lasted just 10 seconds as the Runnin' Bulldogs Jack Hoey made a run down the middle of the field and was found by Mads Rismoen as Hoey collected the pass and hit a strike into the right corner for a 2-1 lead at the half
- Winthrop forced a couple of Daniel Husa saves in the 52nd and 54th minute but were unable to convert
- In the 69th minute Andres Carvajal came close as his shot just inside the boxfrom the right of the goalkeeper just missed the right post
- Just shy of four minutes later Gardner-Webb grabbed a 3-1 lead when Rismoen scored on a header in front of goal off a Magnus Moldjord corner
- Moljord set up the fourth goal as well as David Moreno made it 4-1 in the 80th minute as the Eagles pressed

- Eagles had a 12-10 advantage in shots and 7-5 advantage in shots on goal
- Gardner-Webb had five corners to the Eagles four
- This was the first game the Eagles lost this season when recording more shots than their opponent
- The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was moved to Tuesday in anticipation of the poor weather arriving from Hurricane Michael
