Game Recap
  • Camels came out with a lot of pressure early on as it tested freshman Aidan McCormick in goal, forcing two saves in the first 13:40 of the game and two shots that just missed wide and another that rung the post
  • Winthrop was able to settle in and withstand the pressure over the first 45 minutes as it went into halftime tied 0-0
  • The Eagles nearly grabbed the lead in the 66th minute when Alfie Rogers had a go from about 25 yards out, curling a shot toward the top left corner that was tipped over by Matt Karasinski
  • In the 69th minute Leif Estevez dribbled up field on a counter and played a ball wide to Michael Smith, who served the ball in the box and Jonathan Foster struck a full volley into the back of the net from just inside the box
  • Foster made a run and had a clean look as he ripped the shot back where the cross came from and had too much pace on the ball for Karasinski
  • Campbell pushed hard over the last 20 minutes of the game and had a couple of very close calls
  • In the 78th minute Alex Egeonu was set up with a free path to goal just to the left of McCormick and fired a shot that was saved
  • McCormick's save came back out as Thibaut Jacquel fired a shot that McCormick did a good job getting in front of to force the ball wide with another save
  • Campbell finished with 14 of its 24 shots in the game in the second half

Notables
  • McCormick made his second career start and finished with six saves
  • Foster scored his second goal of the year and his first came in the season opener, which was also the last time McCormick was in goal for the Eagles
