SERIES HISTORY VERSUS COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
The Eagles and Cougars meet for the 28
th time and the first time in Mt. Pleasant since 2009. The Cougars lead the all-time series 20-7 and have won six straight meetings with the last three by one goal. Of those six meetings four of them came in Rock Hill and the other two in Greenville, SC in a tournament at Furman. The last time the Eagles played a true road game against the Cougars they earned a 1-0 win and have won two straight on the road. The other was a 2-1 overtime win in 2007.

These two teams squared off in Rock Hill last season as the Eagles wrapped up non-conference action against the Cougars. College of Charleston earned the win as Ben Tansley scored the only goal of the game in the 34
th minute.
A GLANCE AT THE EAGLES
The 2018 season is winding down as the Eagles have three regular season contests remaining with two of them non-conference games. This will be the final regular season road game for the Eagles, who are coming off a 3-1 loss at Radford on Oct. 20. This is also the fourth straight road contest for the Eagles as they hope to end the road trip the same way they began it. Freshman
Jonathan Foster has three points in the last three games as he scored the game-winner at Campbell and assisted on the only Winthrop goal at Radford. Leif Estevez leads the team in scoring with 10 points while

A GLANCE AT THE COUGARS
Cougars enter the game fresh off a 2-1 home win over Northeastern to celebrate their senior day. The win ended a three-game losing streak. This season the Cougars at 2-4-1 at home. Tucker Heffron is the team's leading the team in scoring with 10 points (5 goals). Joao De souza is second on the team with six points (1g, 4a). On the year the Cougars have scored 14 goals and allowed 26 which is very similar to the Eagles (17 goals scored, 27 allowed).
10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF 2008 BIG SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP
This season the Eagles celebrate the 10
th anniversary of the 2008 Big South Conference Championship team. Looking back on the week of Oct. 21-28 in 2008 the Eagles earned a 2-1 win over the College of Charleston at home for a seventh straight win. The Eagles outscored their opponents 14-2 during the streak (four straight shutouts).
The 2008 team survived some of the most dramatic games in program history on its way to a 15-6-1 record overall as it fell 3-1 at William & Mary in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles captured a 3-2 win at Coastal Carolina on Nov. 5 in foggy conditions as Matt Lacey's laser from 35 yards on a counter found the upper left corner of the goal with 4:16 left in regulation. The Eagles rallied in that game from a 2-1 deficit early in the second half to clinch the regular season title. In the conference tournament (Held at Coastal) the Eagles advanced to the title game in penalties against Liberty. The title game saw the Eagles steal their third title in program history against Coastal. The Chanticleers grabbed a 3-2 lead on a penalty kick in the 87
th minute as the Eagles scored with just 21 seconds on the clock to force overtime and then in the 101
st minute Daniel Revivo buried a service to the back post for the golden goal victory.
BIG SOUTH PRESEASON POLL
Winthrop was picked sixth in the Big South preseason poll as High Point was voted as the favorite with 7-of-9 first-place votes. High Point was followed by Radford, Campbell, Presbyterian College and Gardner-Webb. Tied for 7
th was UNC Asheville and Longwood while USC Upstate was voted 9
th. The top six teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Big South Conference Tournament.

Winthrop returns home for its final Big South Conference contest of the season when it hosts Longwood on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Winthrop will recognize its senior class prior to kickoff.
