Game Recap
- Nil Vinyals tested the Asheville goalkeeper early on as he fired a shot from inside the box that forced a diving save
- Kyle Adams came close for the Bulldogs in the 10th minute when he cut back across the top of the box and curled a shot that just missed the top right corner
- Max Hasenstab found the back of the net in the 19th minute, but was whistled for offside, keeping the game scoreless
- Michael Smith had a good chance in the 40th minute as he received a pass near the six but his shot was turned away as the goalkeeper closed in quickly
- The two teams each had seven shots a piece in the first half
- An early foul outside the box near the end line gave Asheville a free kick and the Bulldogs took advantage
- Dante Bova won a head ball off the service that went back across the goal mouth as Colin Daughtry settled the ball, took a touch away from the defender and then flicked it in the open net with a quick touch before it could be cleared
- In the 62nd minute Michael Smith beat a defender to free himself up inside the box and he fired a shot toward the left side of the goal but Nabil Milani made the diving save
- In the 67th minute it was Smith again as he had his back to goal when he collected the ball just outside the six-yard box as tried to turn and shoot but fired it high over the bar
- The Eagles did create a lot of opportunities going forward in the second half chasing the tying goal, but couldn't connect on many of the final passes and services
