Women’s Soccer Hosts South Carolina State Tuesday

The Winthrop women's soccer team will be looking for its second win of the season when the Eagles host South Carolina State on Tuesday
at 7 p.m. on Eagle Field.

The Eagles are 10-2 all-time against South Carolina State. The Eagles are 5-1 all-time at home against South Carolina State. Winthrop's only loss at home against the Bulldogs was in 2009. Winthrop has won the last three meetings with SC State with the last one coming in 2014 with a 1-0 victory. The game will be available on the Big South Network.

The Eagles enter the game with a 1-2 record after losing to at home last Friday night to Coastal Carolina 2-1 on a late-second goal. Freshman Keeley Leising scored the only goal for the Eagles.
Leising, this week's Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, has now scored two of Winthrop's three goals this season. Senior goalkeeper Karly Gustafson has a total of 16 saves so far this season.

South Carolina State comes into the game with a record of 0-2-1. The Bulldogs tied USC Upstate 1-1 last Friday night.
