SERIES HISTORY VERSUS CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
Winthrop and Charleston Southern will meet for the 100
th time on Friday. The Eagles lead the all-time series 69-30, but are 7-13 in the last 20 meetings and haven't won a three-game series with the Bucs since 2013, which was on the road in N. Charleston. The last time the Eagles took a series from the Bucs at Terry Field was 2009 when they won all three. Since the league moved to three-game series in 2007 the Eagles have won three eight series. The Bucs ended the Eagles season in 2015 with a 9-1 win in the Big South Conference Tournament.

Winthrop dropped a doubleheader at Furman this past Tuesday. Now the Eagles look to end a four-game skid against Charleston Southern Friday night. Winthrop has dropped the last two opening games of a series with CSU. Senior
Zharne Glover continues to swing the bat well as she connected on her second career home run in the first game vs. Furman. It was a three-run homer that put the Eagles in front 6-5. This will be the last home games of the season for the Eagles as they will end the year with seven straight games. The Eagles are looking to gain ground on Charleston Southern in the league standings as they are three wins behind.
A GLANCE AT THE BUCCANEERS
Charleston Southern has dropped three straight and four of the last five games. The Bucs are in the midst of an 11-game road stretch. The team ranks 6th in the Big South in batting with a .280 average and have a team ERA of 4.11, which is ranks 5
th in the league. Offensively the Bucs average 4.3 runs per game and that is up to 5.1 per game in league games. Friday's game marks just the 10
th road game for the Bucs this season where they are 2-7 on the year. While the Eagles are chasing the Bucs in the standings, CSU is looking to climb as it is just one win behind a spot in the Top four.

WHAT'S ON DECK FOR THE EAGLES?
The Eagles will finish off the regular season with seven straight games on the road before returning home for the Big South Conference Tournament. The trip begins with a single-game at Presbyterian College on Wednesday, Apr. 20 at 3 p.m. which completes the three-game series in which PC captured the first two games. Then Apr. 22-23 the Eagles will have a three-game series at Campbell.
WINTHROP HOSTING BIG SOUTH TOURNAMENT
The Winthrop Softball Complex and Terry Field will be the site of the 2016 Big South Conference Softball Championship May 11-14. It will be the 14
th time the tournament will be hosted by Winthrop and first time since 2013. Ticket prices will be announced at a later date. Winthrop has been to the Big South Championship game 12 times, including eight of the last 15 tournaments.
WINTHROP SET TO RECOGNIZE SOFTBALL SENIOR CLASS
This weekend marks the final home games for the Eagles as the senior class will be recognized before the doubleheader on Saturday around 12:45 p.m. There are five players and a volunteer assistant to be part of the ceremony.
2016 SOFTBALL SENIOR CLASS
Lacy Adams (St. Petersburg, FL)- Has been a four-year member of the Eagle softball program. She's played in 13 games with one start in her career. Adams recently represented Winthrop University in Columbia, SC as one of 50 student-athletes around the state of South Carolina who convened on the South Carolina State House to take part in a recognition of National Student-Athlete Day. Adams will graduate with a degree in middle level education with a minor in math. She is the daughter of Angela and Jeff Adams.
Haley Zuehlke (Augusta, GA)- Four-year member of the team with a year of eligibility remaining (missed 2014 w/injury) but is going to graduate. In her career she's played in 120 games with 101 starts between second base, shortstop and third base. In 2015 she pounded out a career-high five home runs and also had a career-high 18 RBI. She has 27 career runs, 43 hits, eight doubles, six home runs and 27 RBI. In 2015 she had a career-high 50 assists in 43 games and this season in 43 games she has 83 assists. Homered in back-to-back games in 2015 (vs. South Carolina and Longwood). Had a career-high four hits vs. Illinois on Feb. 6, 2015 and has twice driven in a career-best three runs in a game. She will graduate with a degree in sport management. Is the daughter of Donna and Bruce Zuehlke.
Dallas King (Concord, NC)- Four-year member of the team that has made 77 appearances in her career with 43 starts. King has battled injuries throughout her career and has missed several games this season. Has 18 career wins with an ERA of 3.69, 10 complete games, two shutouts and a save while tossing 257.2 innings. Earlier this season she struck out a career-high 12 batters against Humber College on Feb. 18. In 2014 she ranked 16
th nationally in fewest walks per seven innings. Tossed her first career shutout on Mar. 1, 2014 in 3-0 win over Wagner. King will graduate with a degree in biochemistry. She is the daughter of Janet and Scott King.
Kim Ryder (Fort Mill, SC)- Four-year member of the team and has played in 143 games with 84 starts having started and played second base, shortstop and third. In her career Ryder has 41 runs, 31 hits, and 12 stolen bases. Has a career-best .344 on-base percentage this season, drawing a career-high 11 walks. Set a career-high in runs in a single-game with three on two occasions and hits with three (twice). First career RBI came against Ohio State in her first collegiate game and her first collegiate hit was a two-run home run that came against Longwood on Mar. 5, 2013. Ryder will graduate with a degree in business marketing. She is the daughter of Susan and Robert Ryder.
Zharne Glover (Fort Mill, SC)- Glover has been patrolling center field as a starter the past three seasons and is a four-year member of the team. This season she's set a career-high with 19 RBI and has hit her first two career home runs. In her career she has 71 runs, 96 hits, 12 doubles, 31 RBI and 23 stolen bases. She is looking to become the 47
th player in the program's history to reach 100 career hits. Set her career-high of RBI in a single-game this past week with three against Furman. She tied her career-best six-game hit streak this season, which she set as a freshman. Glover will graduate with a degree in sociology with a concentration in criminology.
She is the daughter of Sholanda Farmer.
Garrett Pace (Greenville, SC)-Began his time with the program as a student manager, which turned into a volunteer assistant position. Pace has been with the program for three years and assists with many aspects of the program including hitting and infield. Softball is in his blood as he grew up around the sport as his mother Tammy was a high school coach. He also helped coach travel ball teams in the Carolina Crush organization at the age of nine. His older sister Hannah recently graduated from Furman University where she was a member of the softball team.
