Winthrop Hosts North Carolina A&T in Mid-Week Clash

Winthrop begins four game home stand Wednesday
ROCK HILL, SC—The Winthrop baseball squad will return home for a four game home stand beginning Wednesday, March 30 against North Carolina A&T.  First pitch against the Aggies is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Winthrop Ballpark.

LAST GAME
The Eagles enter the game coming off of a Big South series loss to High Point this past weekend.  Despite dropping the series, Winthrop was able to take the final game 6-2.  Pitcher Thad Harris earned his first win of the season pitching 7.2 innings only allowing two earned runs while compiling four strikeouts.  The Eagles tallied 10 hits and three RBIs in this contest.

Winthrop won the last meeting over NC A&T 15-4 earlier this month in Greensboro.  The Eagles tallied a season high 18 hits in this win.  Mitch Spires went 3 for 5, Roger Gonzalez was 3 for 3 with a three run homer, Mark Lowrie was 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs, and Babe Thomas was 2 for 4 also with 4 RBIs.
