Winthrop falls to 17-10 on the year and 1-4 in the Big South while Coastal Carolina stays perfect in conference action with a 5-0 record and 20-6 overall.

Josh Strong took the loss, allowing three runs on ten hits in 4.2 innings.
Travis Shelley and
Riley Arnone pitched the final 3.1 innings and gave up three runs on five hits. Austin Kerr earned the win for the Chanticleers holding the Eagles to just three hits in 6.2 innings.
Connor Owings opened up scoring for the Chanticleers in the third inning, driving home Michael Paez on triple to left center.
The Chanticleers pushed the advantage to 4-0, scoring one run in each of the next three innings. With two outs, Coastal Carolina hit three straight singles scored Al Molina in the fourth inning.
Michael Paez crossed the plate in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by G.K. Yound after doubling and advancing to second on a single by Owings. Tyler Chadwick hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the sixth to bring the score to 4-0.
Coastal Carolina tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning as Chadwick and Josh Crump came home on a bases loaded single up the middle by Paez
