Seabolt Ties For 11th Place At 2015 Sun Bowl All-America Classic In El Paso

Eagles Junior Was Among 21 All-American Who Were Selected For Tournament

EL PASO, TX—
Winthrop junior golfer Zach Seabolt tied for 11th place in the 2015 Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic that finished up Sunday afternoon at the El Paso Country Club.
 
Seabolt (Raleigh, NC), who was among 21 participants in the tournament who were named to an All-America team last season, finished the tournament at 3-over par 216.  He shot an opening round 74 and followed that with a 70 on Saturday over the par 71, 6,889-yard course.  He had a final round of 72. 
 
As a result of his appearance in the tournament, Winthrop will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Western Refining. 
 
Vanderbilt senior Zack Jaworski started the day in fifth place on the leaderboard but fired a 4-under-par 67 in the final round to become the 41st champion of the prestigious event and earned the Lee Trevino Trophy.
 
The Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic is one of the premier college golf tournaments in the country. Some of golf's brightest stars have traveled to El Paso to compete in the tournament since its inaugural year in 1976. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Ricky Barnes and Jerry Pate are just a handful of past participants who went on to have successful PGA careers. College All-America Golf Classic Alumni have combined to win 47 majors championships and have earned over $1 billion in career earnings.
