Box Score CONWAY, SC—The Winthrop Lady Eagles' soccer squad fell 5-1 to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Friday night at CCU stadium.
The Chanticleers came out strong in the first half. They fired a flurry of shots towards goal in the first fifteen minutes of the match. Goalkeeper
Karly Gustafson was able to make four early saves during this period of pressure. However, Coastal's Kayla Christian was able to the give the Chanticleers the lead when she scored off an assist from Darbie Kelley in the 16
th minute. Minutes later a penalty was called against Winthrop and Kelley converted the penalty kick extending the lead to 2-0 in the 18

Megan David.
The Lady Eagles were very aggressive to start the second half. This led to a quick goal for
Megan David in the 47
th minute. She was able to head one in off a corner kick set piece assisted by
Olivia Costello. Winthrop nearly scored again in the 52
nd minute when
Yasmin Loredo drilled one off the crossbar.

rd minute and another in the 74
th to make it 5-1. This remained the score until the final whistle. Winthrop was outshot by Coastal 20-7.
